Denim Waste Re-Crafted

White Weft is a design studio based in London. We make products from textile waste because we don’t want to see valuable materials dumped in oceans and landfills.

The business was founded by Janelle Hanna, a denim designer who has worked for well known jeans brands and retailers. Increasingly concerned by the waste and disposability of the fashion industry, Janelle started White Weft to explore slower and more local methods of production.

We challenge the notion that up-cycled goods are lower quality than mass produced items.

Our products are recycled but never thrifty – they’re unique, sharply finished, good as new.

Everything is made by us in our Brixton workshop, or at local factories where garment workers are paid living wages.

Fashion Open Studio film
